Small tasks that usually go unnoticed suddenly feel like massive obstacles, and you might find yourself starting multiple projects but unable to finish them due to a scattered mind. One of the hardest parts for me was craving alone time to recharge but feeling guilty about taking it. Society often equates productivity with worthiness, making it tough to allow yourself quiet moments without shame. But embracing this need for reduced sensory input is crucial. Techniques like lowering screen time, spending time in nature, or practicing gentle breathing helped calm my nervous system and steadily eased the overload. Recognizing the difference between being unmotivated and overstimulated changed how I approached my well-being. Instead of pushing harder, I prioritized fewer external demands and created safe spaces for rest. This not only improved my mental clarity but also restored my energy organically. If you find yourself tense without clear reasons, overwhelmed by urgency, and cycling through tasks without completion, consider whether overstimulation might be playing a role—and give yourself permission to slow down and simplify.
