My morning coffee routine ☕️😋

As an ADHD mom, I’m always feeling like I don’t do enough. I like to multitask most of what I do so I feel more productive. Task stacking if you want to call it. Every morning as I brew my coffee, I will unload the previous days dishes and start loading mornings dishes. If I’m faster than the pot, I will sweep the kitchen and dining room. While drinking coffee, I will wipe down these counters from last night so it’s fresh during the day.

Interestingly, I also pay attention to how caffeine affects my anxiety and energy levels. Coffee is more than just a wake-up call; it’s a moment to reset and prepare mentally for the day. The ritual of wiping down counters not only keeps my kitchen hygienic, reducing bacteria and viruses by 99.9%, but also refreshes my environment, which positively impacts my focus throughout the day. For anyone juggling the demands of motherhood and ADHD, integrating purposeful, small tasks during coffee time harnesses the calming effect of routine alongside the motivational boost from caffeine. This technique combats the feeling of not doing enough and addresses 'tired but not lazy' energy, helping me move forward with intention rather than overwhelm.
