Movies I watched this week🎬✨️

4/20 Edited to

... Read moreThis week’s movie marathon was a mixed bag, and I found myself really enjoying most of the films, except for "Stop Thrash," which felt like it was missing something essential. Watching "Wuthering Heights" (2026) was a highlight for me, with Emerald Fennell’s strong direction and the powerful romance and drama elements weaving a captivating story. Another standout was "Rental Family" (2025), a touching film that runs for 110 minutes and features strong performances from Brendan Fraser and Takehiro Hira. It’s one of those movies that makes you think about family bonds in unconventional ways, and I highly recommend it if you want something heartfelt with depth. For fans of thrillers and genre blends, I gave "Pretty Lethal" (2026) a watch. It’s a fast-paced action thriller starring Maddie Ziegler and Lana Condor, which kept me engaged with its energetic vibe and suspenseful action scenes. I also tried out "Creep" (2014), a horror-comedy that mixes scares with laughs, which was a nice palate cleanser between heavier films. The unique blend of horror and humor made this movie unexpectedly enjoyable. That said, "Stop Thrash" (2024) was a bit of a disappointment. Despite a solid cast including Whitney Peak and AJ Lindau, the 100-minute runtime didn’t seem to fully develop the story or characters. It left me wanting more depth and explanation. If you’ve watched it, I’m curious to know your thoughts—did the movie meet your expectations? Over the week, I realized how varied movie experiences can be depending on the genre and storytelling style. From period dramas and family stories to thrillers and horror-comedies, mixing up genres kept my movie nights fresh. If you enjoy diverse genres and honest reviews, consider trying out some of these films. For anyone planning their next movie night, I’d say start with the emotional depth of "Wuthering Heights" or the heartfelt narrative in "Rental Family." If you want edge-of-your-seat action, "Pretty Lethal" is a great pick. And if you like something quirky and fun, "Creep" definitely delivers. Just take "Stop Thrash" with a grain of salt, as it might not satisfy all thriller fans. What movies have you watched lately that left a strong impression? Sharing recommendations is always fun because it broadens our viewing horizons and introduces us to hidden gems and new favorites.

It felt like Thrash didn't really have an ending, I liked it, just felt unfinished
