Who made this horrendous decision?
The beginning after the end has been very fun #Anime #tbate #thebeginningaftertheend #arthurleywin
Okay, so if you're like me and constantly scouring for the latest 'The Beginning After The End' (TBATE) manhwa scans, you know how addictive Arthur Leywin's journey is! I mean, who isn't hooked on his reincarnation story, the intricate magic system, the evolving world-building, and those incredibly epic battles? Finding the newest chapters and discussing them with fellow fans is half the fun, right? We invest so much into these characters and their struggles, eagerly awaiting each 'TBATE scan' update. But let's be real, while TBATE delivers on so many fronts and keeps us coming back for more, sometimes a character or a plot point just hits different – and not always in a good way. I've been following the manhwa for ages, and lately, I just had to voice my thoughts on some of the decisions made, especially around certain characters. We all love to root for Arthur, but what about the antagonists who are supposed to challenge him and drive the story forward? Their impact is crucial, and sometimes, it feels like a misstep can really dampen the experience. Specifically, can we talk about Lucas Wykes? I’ve seen so many discussions, and for me, his portrayal and the way his storyline unfolded felt like a truly 'horrendous decision' at times. The sentiments captured in the OCR from the article images really resonated with me on this point. It felt like we were just getting over Lucas being this 'insufferable villain,' a 'spoiled brat' who was definitely a 'garbage character,' and then BAM! The story seemed to rush into introducing 'another devil incarnate' without much room to breathe or fully appreciate the impact of the previous conflict. It was almost like the narrative couldn't wait to move on. I mean, while Lucas was 'walking around being his usual spoiled brat,' and we thought we’d seen the extent of his villainy, the introduction of yet 'another diabolical thing' felt... premature? Like, couldn't we have waited a few chapters? It sometimes felt like the narrative was just trying to 'downforce the crap out of Lucas' and immediately present a new threat, instead of letting the previous events and their consequences fully sink in. Was it really necessary to throw us into another villain arc so quickly when Lucas 'wasn't bad enough' on his own to serve his purpose? It diluted the impact of both antagonists for a moment. This isn't to say the overall 'The Beginning After The End' manhwa isn't amazing – it totally is! The overarching plot, Arthur's growth, and the world are fantastic. But these specific character decisions, like rushing the introduction of a new antagonist while the previous one was still fresh in our minds, can be a bit jarring and pull you out of the immersive experience. It’s those moments that make you pause and think, 'Who made this call?' I'm always eager for the next 'manhwa scan,' but I hope future arcs give us a bit more room to process the impact and development of each major antagonist. What do you all think? Have you felt similar frustrations while catching up on the latest 'TBATE scan'?
