Clearing my TikTok Drafts!
Archive makeup look!💋
Okay, so we all have that folder, right? For me, it's my TikTok drafts, overflowing with forgotten ideas, half-finished trends, and, apparently, a ton of archive makeup looks! I know I'm not the only one who starts a video with so much enthusiasm, only for it to sit in drafts for months. I decided it was finally time to tackle the beast and do a proper clear-out. You'd be surprised what gems you find, but also, how much digital clutter accumulates! My process usually starts with a simple scroll-through. I look at each draft and ask myself a few questions: Is this still relevant? Trends move fast on TikTok. A sound or a challenge from two months ago might feel dated now. Is the quality good enough? Sometimes I record in bad lighting or the audio is off. No point in posting something that doesn't meet my own standards. Does it still spark joy? (Marie Kondo, but for TikTok drafts!) If I look at it and feel a pang of 'ugh,' it's probably time to let it go. Can I repurpose it? This is where those 'archive makeup looks' come in! Maybe the original idea for the video isn't great, but the makeup itself is stunning. Could I use clips of it in a 'makeup transformation' compilation, or as a 'throwback look' if I re-do it with better lighting? For those makeup looks, specifically, I often find myself with two categories: the 'almost perfect, just needs a tweak' and the 'what was I thinking?!' For the former, I might save the original close-up shots of the makeup itself to use in a carousel post on Lemon8, or even as B-roll for a new TikTok. It's a great way to recycle content without having to create everything from scratch. Sometimes, just adding a new, trending sound can breathe new life into an old clip. The 'what was I thinking' drafts usually get deleted without a second thought. And honestly, it feels so freeing! It's like decluttering your physical space – less digital weight, more room for new, fresh ideas. If you're like me and your drafts are a black hole, here's a little challenge: pick one day this week to spend just 15-30 minutes going through them. You don't have to delete everything, but try to categorize. Maybe create a mental 'post soon' pile, a 'repurpose ideas' pile, and a 'delete' pile. You might rediscover some amazing content you totally forgot about, or just free up some mental space. It's a small act, but it can make a big difference in how you approach creating content.
