First Semester done and dusted #nursingstudent #futurern
As someone who just finished my first semester in nursing school, I can definitely say it's been a rollercoaster. Balancing life as a mom with studying was tougher than I imagined, especially when it came to taking my very first online final. Using the LockDown Browser was a whole new experience — it locked down my computer, recorded me via webcam, and made sure I couldn’t navigate away from the exam. It was nerve-wracking knowing every move was watched and recorded. On top of that, I worried a lot about memory fog after having kids, but I studied hard all weekend and trusted my preparation. The exam had 100 questions, and I ended up with a 76%, which was just a C, but for that particular class—the hardest I’ve faced—it felt like an accomplishment. Overall, I earned an 84% in the class, which is a solid B, and I’m proud of that given the circumstances. For anyone else in nursing school, especially those balancing family life or taking online exams with LockDown Browser, I’d say keep calm, prepare well, and don’t underestimate the emotional challenge. Recording yourself during a test adds a layer of pressure, but it's important to stay focused on what you know and keep pushing forward. It’s tough but doable, and celebrating small wins like finishing the first semester can really help keep motivation up.
