have you ever paused to consider what remains after you’ve been in a space? what lingers in the hearts of people, or in the atmosphere around you—long after the moment has passed?
in the Kingdom, this is what we’d call impact. it’s not something measured by visibility or recognition, but by what endures.
as a daughter of God, your life is designed to leave a lasting mark—but not through striving or performance. true impact is formed through relationship. as you remain in Christ (john 15:5), His life is expressed through yours, and that union bears fruit—not by effort, but by the Spirit of God at work within you. galatians 5 says it this way:
“the fruit produced by the Holy Spirit within you is divine love in all its varied expressions: joy that overflows, peace that subdues, patience that endures, kindness in action, a life full of virtue, faith that prevails, gentleness of heart, and strength of spirit…” (galatians 5:22–23, tpt)
this is the impact of a life rooted in Christ. not something you have to produce, but something springing up from within you—quietly, consistently, and powerfully. as His life flows through you, it shapes people, shifts environments, and leaves a lasting imprint—one that extends far beyond what you currently see.
take a moment with the Lord and ask Him: what kind of impact is my life leaving right now? what is Your Spirit forming in me that will remain? write down what He reveals—and let it reshape how you see the way your life is touching others.
Taking time to journal about the impact your life leaves can be a profound way to deepen your spiritual journey. From my experience, true impact isn't about the applause or visible achievements, but the subtle, enduring changes we inspire in others through love and kindness. When I first began focusing on Galatians 5:22-23—the fruit of the Spirit—I noticed how qualities like patience and gentleness not only transformed my mindset but also positively influenced my relationships and environment. I encourage you to pause and ask yourself what lingers in the hearts of people you've encountered recently. Has your presence brought joy or peace, even in small moments? This reflection can reveal how your life aligns with God’s purpose beyond the surface level. Often, the most powerful impact happens quietly and consistently—through acts of faith and virtue that may go unseen but are deeply felt. Moreover, journaling these reflections allows you to track spiritual growth over time. Writing down what the Spirit reveals about your impact encourages awareness and intentionality. For example, by noting moments when you demonstrated kindness or perseverance, you reinforce these virtues within yourself. This practice has helped me see that my life’s enduring mark is crafted through a relationship with Christ rather than performance. Ultimately, the lasting effect of a life lived in alignment with God's purpose is a legacy built on divine love expressed in everyday actions. Each time you journal on this topic, you renew your commitment to nurture that fruit within you, creating ripples that extend far beyond what the eye can see.
