Some prayers aren’t loud.

They live in the quiet places—

beneath your ribs,

behind your tears,

in the hush between hope and surrender.

This is mine.

For the child I haven’t met yet,

but already feel when the wind brushes my cheek,

or when a lullaby catches me off guard.

For the baby I speak to in dreams.

For the soul who already knows my voice.

For the one I would hold like sacred light.
