Reposting this from last year - brands like @Maybelline NY don't name their shades this way just to confuse you, although I can totally understand the confusion The difference between shades of black in mascaras like "black," "extreme black" and "blackest black," are usually subtle but noticeable. It might seem like they're all the same but while all these is shades are designed to enhance the darkness and intensity oflyour lashes —the mascaras labeled as "extreme black" or "blackest black", ect tend to have the deepest, more intense pigment compared to the standard "black" shade. Typical this include black carbon chips for the blackest blacks. This slight difference results in your lashes looking darker, fuller and more defined with these darker shades. It's all about how intense and bold you want your mascara to show up.
