1️⃣ Prep Your Skin

• Start on clean, dry skin

• Apply face oil or serum (never gua sha dry skin)

• Hold the tool at a 15–30° angle, almost flat

2️⃣ Neck First (Lymph Drainage)

• Always begin here

• Glide upward from collarbone to jaw

• Use gentle pressure

• Repeat 5–10 strokes per side

3️⃣ Jawline & Chin

• Anchor skin with your fingers

• Sweep from chin → ear

• Use the curved side of the tool

• Repeat 5–10 strokes per side

4️⃣ Cheeks (Lift & Sculpt)

• Start at the nose

• Glide outward toward the ear

• Keep pressure light and slow

• Repeat 5–10 strokes

5️⃣ Under Eyes (De-Puff)

• Use the smallest curve

• Glide very gently from inner corner → temple

• 3–5 strokes only (less is more)

6️⃣ Brows & Forehead

• Move from brows upward to hairline

• Then sweep from center → temples

• Helps smooth tension & fine lines

7️⃣ Finish & Lock It In

• Press remaining product into skin

• Optional: mist or moisturizer

• Clean your gua sha after use

... Read moreI've been practicing gua sha for several months now, and one thing I quickly realized is that the technique truly makes all the difference. It's not about how hard you press but how precisely you use each stroke to target specific areas. Starting with a clean face and applying oil is key — never use the tool on dry skin as it can cause irritation or drag. For me, beginning at the neck for lymphatic drainage helps set the tone. I glide upwards gently from collarbones to jawline, which helps reduce puffiness. Moving to the jawline, holding the skin taut makes it easier to sculpt and shape. I always use the curved side of my gua sha tool here. When working on my cheeks, slow and light strokes from the nose outwards create a noticeable lifting effect without creasing the skin. Under the eyes, the smallest curve of the tool and extremely gentle strokes help minimize puffiness effectively — I keep it to just a few strokes to avoid overstimulation. The forehead and brows benefit from upward sweeps that relieve tension and smooth fine lines. I find this part especially relaxing after a long day. One tip I've adopted is chilling my gua sha tool in the fridge before use; it instantly enhances the de-puffing experience. Consistency is essential, so I aim to practice 3–5 times a week for best results. Lastly, cleaning the tool after each session keeps things hygienic, and pressing remaining serum into the skin helps lock in the benefits. Incorporating these steps into my routine not only boosted my skin's appearance but also became a soothing ritual I look forward to. The magic lies in gentle, mindful movements that sculpt and glow naturally without redness or discomfort.
