It’s like they go ghost just when you need a listening ear the most. This reaction can be deeply hurtful because it makes you question your worth and whether your own struggles matter. Therapy has been a game-changer for me. Unlike acquaintances or even close friends who might unintentionally ignore your need to be heard, a therapist provides undivided attention without judgment. Knowing there’s a safe space where my feelings are validated helps balance the emotional scales. If you find yourself in the position of always listening but rarely being listened to, it’s crucial to set boundaries to protect your mental health. Communicating openly about your needs can sometimes awaken reciprocity. Also, nurturing relationships with those who truly support you makes a massive difference. Ultimately, being a good listener is valuable, but your voice and feelings deserve equal care and attention.
