Olive oil is a staple for me—I usually drizzle 2 to 4 tablespoons daily over salads or cooked vegetables. Its benefits extend beyond flavor; it helps lower the risk of fatty liver and even provides protection against issues like gallbladder stones and colon cancer. Avocado is another favorite, offering fiber and prebiotic properties that aid gut health. I find that eating at least half an avocado a day not only keeps me full but may help lower colon cancer risk. Incorporating fruits, especially apples, as healthy snacks is a routine I recommend; they bring strong protective effects against fatty liver and support overall liver detoxification. For a nutrient-packed boost, mixed nuts such as walnuts offer vitamin E, known for its protective role against fatty liver and cancer prevention. I often snack on a small handful daily. Lastly, drinks like coffee, green tea, and high-percentage cacao (over 70%) have been linked to liver health benefits. Enjoying these beverages throughout the week has become part of my lifestyle. Making these small, sustainable changes has personally enhanced my metabolic health and helped me manage fatty liver risk. For those interested, adding cinnamon and honey to apple slices creates a delicious, kid-friendly snack that supports these goals. Overall, blending these superfoods into a balanced diet can yield noticeable health improvements over time.

I’ve heard Brazil nuts are good for your liver. Is that true? My gastroenterologist & hepatologist don’t provide suggestions for good food for liver/colon/gut health.
