This was a DIY fail.
This idea was in my head and when I tried it out well…let’s just say I’ll be painting over and starting again. Not everything is a good idea. Worth a shot tho! What could I have done differently!
Taking on DIY projects can be incredibly rewarding, but sometimes things don’t go as planned — as I experienced firsthand with this painting attempt. The idea seemed promising in my head, but once I put brush to surface, the results were disappointing enough that I had to start over completely. One key takeaway is the importance of preparation. Before diving in, it's essential to test ideas on small patches or samples to gauge how paint and materials interact. This can save you from committing to a full project on a whim. Another tip is to choose the right paint for the surface. Using inappropriate paint can lead to issues like peeling, uneven coverage, or unexpected texture. Reading product labels and researching best paint types for your specific project can help avoid this. Also, patience and layering are crucial. Rushing the process or applying too thick a coat often causes imperfections. Waiting for layers to dry fully before adding the next ensures a flatter, smoother finish. Finally, don’t be discouraged by failures. They are part of the learning process. When things go wrong, reflect on it, adjust your approach, and try again—like the motivating words “NOPE. TRY AGAIN” that perfectly capture the DIY spirit. With these tips, your next project will have better chances of success!

I thought it would have turned out cute.🤷♀️
