Nursing School Update 👩🏽‍⚕️

it’s been awhile since i updated you guys, We have entered a new semester but i have finally finished all my prerequisites for nursing and i’m now gearing up to take the teas again ! the good news : i passed my last semester with a 4.0 gpa 🤍 it was hard work but i’m so glad i never gave up! IM MAKING MYSELF PROUD! i never thought i would get this far but to prove my little self doubt voice wrong is the best feeling ! i’m on honor roll and i am getting closer to achieving my dream of being a nurse. I see i have new followers who might be on the journey with me of becoming a nurse so i wanna share my story to offer motivation. what sparked my interest of becoming a nurse was having my daughter and realizing the need for BLACK MATERNAL CARE PROVIDERS , now thats doesn’t mean that i’m saying everyone doesn’t need good maternal care but i see a need for all new mothers to be taking care of and catered to especially black moms who have been ignored and pushed aside. so my plan is to become and RN and then become a midwife and open my own birthing center. I WANT TO CHANGE HOW WE TREAT WOMEN WHO ARE BRINGING THEIR PRECIOUS ANGELS IN THIS WORLD 🌍. So that is my motivation i want to make a change starting with myself and what i’m passionate about ! 🤍👩🏽‍⚕️ #blackmaternalhealth #nursejourney #futurenurselife #nursingschooljourney #nursingmajor

... Read moreIn the journey of pursuing a nursing career, dedication and perseverance are key. Nursing school isn't just an academic challenge; it’s a transformative experience. With a rising emphasis on diversity in healthcare, the need for Black maternal care providers is critical. Studies show that culturally competent care can significantly improve health outcomes for Black mothers and their babies. As aspiring nurses, understanding the importance of representation can fuel our motivation to effect change in maternal health practices. Furthermore, pursuing nursing will equip future professionals with the skills to educate and advocate for their communities. Becoming an RN is merely the first step; those who wish to specialize, such as midwifery, can greatly influence the future of healthcare delivery. Setting up birthing centers that are welcoming and supportive is vital to changing the narrative in maternal care. For anyone questioning their potential in this journey, remember it’s the commitment to care and improve lives that truly defines a nurse. With resources like mentorship programs, study groups, and online support communities, nursing students can navigate the rigors of their studies while building lasting friendships. Whether sharing experiences on social media or interacting with professionals in the field, there's a wealth of support available. Embrace the journey, and let your passion for making a difference drive you forward!
