Here we go again 🪒

It’s wild how I’ve completely normalized cutting my hair at this point—like, way too comfortable with it. Honestly, I wasn’t even sure if I wanted to post this because this time it was super awkward having to share it in real time. Quick story time : I had an allergic reaction to one of the products I was using, and instead of stressing over it, I just decided to cut it all off and start fresh. It’s not a big deal to me anymore, but I know this might mean something to someone else going through their own situation. So here it is, in real time. If you’re thinking about cutting your hair, dealing with shedding, or just trying to figure things out—I hope this inspires you the way it inspired me to share it. ❤️ Also, shoutout to @Allegra for saving the day ), and @Flamingo + @Venus Gillette for the clean-up job! #c #creatorsearchinsights #f #fypt #bigchopjourney #headshave

... Read moreMy recent decision to completely chop off my hair, driven by an unexpected allergic reaction, truly felt like hitting a reset button. But beyond my personal story, I’ve realized that the "big chop" or even a full headshave is a powerful journey many people embark on for a myriad of reasons. It's not always about a crisis; sometimes, it's a deliberate act of self-redefinition. For some, it's about hair health. Years of heat styling, chemical treatments, or even just trying too many products can leave hair feeling lifeless and damaged. Like my situation, where an allergic reaction forced my hand, many choose a big chop to literally cut to the chase and start fresh with healthy growth. It’s a brave step to let go of what’s no longer serving you, whether it’s damaged ends or a product that’s causing issues. Then there’s the sheer desire for change. Life is full of transitions – starting a new job, moving to a new city, or even planning a significant event like a wedding. While many brides might grow out their hair for their big day, a "wedding hair chop" could surprisingly mean embracing a bold, modern look that perfectly reflects a new chapter. Imagine the freedom of a chic, low-maintenance cut for your honeymoon! It’s all about what makes you feel confident and authentic. A headshave, in particular, carries an incredible sense of liberation. It's truly a "walk in a park" for some, a radical act that strips away societal expectations about feminine beauty and allows one to truly see their own features. I remember thinking, "Is my head so cute?" and realizing, *yes*, it is! This bold move can be incredibly empowering, a statement of individuality and self-acceptance that transcends cultural backgrounds. Whether you're a student, a professional, or someone simply exploring personal expression, the act of shaving your head can be a profound experience. It's about taking control and saying, "I love this cool new version of myself." If you’re contemplating your own hair transformation, here’s my advice from experience: First, mentally prepare. It’s a significant change, and you might have moments where you question it. But remember, hair grows back! Think of it as a "project figure out what the heck's going on here" with your own style, and trust your instincts. Second, consider the practicalities. If you're going for a full headshave, invest in good tools. I found brands like Venus invaluable for a clean, smooth finish. Post-chop, your scalp will need attention. Look into gentle shampoos and conditioning treatments to keep your scalp healthy and promote new growth. This "feels so good" after years of dealing with long hair. Finally, embrace the journey. Don't be afraid to experiment with accessories like scarves, headbands, or even bold earrings. This is a chance to discover a whole new side of your style and personality. The exciting part of this is that you get to do it together with yourself, through self-discovery. Ultimately, whether you're dealing with hair damage, seeking a fresh start for a major life event, or simply craving a dramatic change, a big chop or headshave can be an incredibly freeing and empowering experience. It’s a reminder that beauty isn’t confined to one look, but rather radiates from confidence and self-love.

We all have a difficult past and there are many books about forgiving, letting go or moving on. BUT this book had so many different view points, biblical verses, many similes and metaphors. If you get a chance to pick up a new book to understand a different perspective on forgiveness don’t hesitate
