The gut connection to thyroid antibodies no one talks about.

I had elevated thyroid antibodies for years. My immune system was attacking my thyroid.

Every doctor focused on my thyroid. Not one asked about my gut.

But here’s what they missed: 70% of your immune system lives in your gut.

If your gut is inflamed, infected, and leaky, your immune system is in overdrive. And when your immune system is dysregulated, it can start attacking your own tissues.

Like your thyroid.

My gut issues:

∙ H. pylori infection

∙ bacterial overgrowths

∙ dysbiosis (imbalanced gut bacteria)

∙ blastocystis hominis parasite

∙ candida overgrowth

∙ leaky gut and intestinal permeability

All of this was creating massive inflammation and confusing my immune system.

Once I got a comprehensive stool test and saw what was actually happening, everything made sense.

My antibodies weren’t just a thyroid problem. They were a gut problem.

I addressed the gut infections. Healed the leaky gut. Reduced the inflammation.

My antibodies started coming down. My eyes improved. My symptoms got better.

This is why gut health matters for autoimmune thyroid conditions.

You can’t regulate your immune system if your gut is a war zone.

Check out my thyroid bundle & protocol that covers the gut-immune-thyroid connection and the testing protocol I used to identify what was driving my antibodies.

And if you need support getting the right testing and creating a gut healing protocol, I work with clients to address the root causes of elevated antibodies.

Your gut and your thyroid are more connected than you think 🫶 wish I realized this a DECADE ago.

... Read moreFrom personal experience, addressing gut health can be a game-changer for those struggling with autoimmune thyroid issues like elevated thyroid antibodies. After years of treatments focusing solely on the thyroid, I realized that my repeatedly high thyroid antibody levels weren’t just a thyroid issue—they stemmed from my gut health. Conditions like H. pylori infections, bacterial overgrowth, dysbiosis, parasites such as blastocystis hominis, candida overgrowth, and leaky gut created a perfect storm of inflammation that kept my immune system in overdrive. The gut is home to about 70% of the body's immune system, which means any disruption there can lead to immune dysregulation. When your gut barrier is compromised, the immune system can mistake your own tissues, like the thyroid gland, for threats and start attacking them, raising antibody levels. After undergoing a comprehensive stool test, I uncovered the full extent of the gut issues disrupting my immune regulation. Targeted treatment to eradicate infections, rebalance gut bacteria, and heal intestinal permeability led to a gradual decrease in inflammation. Over time, my thyroid antibodies dropped, and my related symptoms improved, including eye health associated with thyroid eye disease. For others facing similar challenges, I recommend not ignoring gut health in your thyroid journey. Getting specialized stool testing can reveal hidden infections or imbalances that standard tests miss. Healing protocols involving diet, supplements, and sometimes medications tailored to your unique gut landscape play a key role in calming immune attacks. In summary, if you’re dealing with elevated thyroid antibodies or autoimmune thyroid conditions like Graves' disease or Hashimoto’s, consider looking beyond the thyroid itself. Your gut could be the missing link to restoring balance and improving your quality of life.
