One important but often overlooked tip is regularly cleaning items that come into contact with your skin, such as glasses and your phone. I noticed that when I forgot to wipe down my phone’s screen or slept in my glasses, I would often break out around my temples or cheeks. Cleaning these daily significantly reduced those flare-ups. Hydration also plays a crucial role. Drinking plenty of water throughout the day helps keep your skin hydrated and flush out toxins. While it’s tempting to reach for sodas or sugary juices, these beverages can increase breakouts. I allow myself occasional treats but always in moderation to avoid upsetting my skin balance. Stress management is another essential factor. Stress increases cortisol levels, which triggers excess oil production and causes breakouts. Personally, incorporating relaxation techniques like meditation and regular exercise has helped me keep both stress and acne at bay. Lastly, never skip thorough makeup removal. Double cleansing—using an oil-based cleanser first to break down makeup, followed by your regular cleanser—ensures your pores aren’t clogged. This routine has been a game-changer for avoiding post-makeup breakouts. Overall, clear skin comes from a combination of mindful habits: clean your frequently touched items, hydrate well, eat balanced meals with occasional indulgences, manage stress, and follow a proper cleansing routine. These steps, combined with products suited for your skin type, will go a long way in maintaining a healthy glow.
