Got some things to get off my chest…

… as a travel influencer trying to focus on the positive, when the news from my country just gets worse everyday. 🇺🇸

If any of this resonates with you, please share it, or at least drop an emoji in the comments so more than 2 people see it (how about a fruit theme today? 🍌)

Because sometimes you just don’t know what to say, but kind of want to scream.

... Read moreTraveling has always been more than just moving from one place to another for me; it's about discovering the kindness and resilience that connect us across borders. Living in the US during times of political and social unrest makes it particularly challenging to maintain this perspective. Yet, through my journeys across five countries, I've realized that fear often comes from misunderstanding rather than reality. One thing I've learned is that while no place is without its problems, the world is full of welcoming and curious people, eager to share their stories and lives. This is something I experienced firsthand dancing in plazas in El Salvador, where locals were genuinely interested in understanding us. It reminded me that despite political challenges at home, human connection and shared joy are powerful forces. I also want to acknowledge how personal identity shapes these experiences. As someone who benefits from certain protections, I recognize that not everyone's reality is the same, and that awareness is crucial for empathy and solidarity. Travel has shown me that many people worldwide face their own struggles, yet most remain kind and resilient. My approach now is to use my platform to highlight positive, sustainable travel stories that inspire, while not shying away from the difficult truths affecting my country and the world. It's a delicate balance—embracing beauty without ignoring reality—but it’s necessary to foster genuine understanding and hope. If you feel overwhelmed by the news or disheartened by political discourse, remember that travel can be a source of healing and perspective. It helps us see beyond borders and headlines, revealing the humanity that unites us all. So, let's keep sharing our stories and supporting each other—sometimes with a simple emoji or a kind word—because every small act contributes to a greater sense of global community.
