Biography of Her Royal Highness Princess Valaya Alongkorn
Her Royal Highness Princess Valaya Alongkorn, the Princess Aunt (Somdet Phra Rajapithuchha), Princess of Phetchaburi Rajsirindhorn, was the 48th daughter of King Chulalongkorn (Rama V). She was born to Queen Savang Vadhana, the Queen Grandmother, on April 16, 1884.
She recognized the importance of education for Thai women. For example, she served as a patron of Rajini School, supported the construction of Rajini Bon School, and established Phetchaburi Witthayalongkorn Teacher Training School (later known as Valaya Alongkorn Rajabhat University).
