From my own experience, I've found that recognizing which stage you’re in can be both enlightening and challenging. Nigredo, the blackness or 'dark night,' felt like a time of deep grief and confusion for me. It was marked by moments of despair and emotional upheaval, much like the 'ugly crying' and sleepless nights described in the process. However, this initial stage is essential—it invites us to confront our shadows and acknowledge the parts of ourselves that need healing. Moving into Albedo, or the white stage, felt like stepping into a period of illumination but also confusion. Many mistake this for the end of the process, but in reality, it’s just the beginning of deeper insight. I realized that simply understanding past patterns or trauma does not mean one has fully healed. This phase requires patience and a willingness to look beyond surface clarity. The next stage, Citrinitas or yellow, brought a shift towards experimentation and embodiment of what I'd learned. This meant actively trying new ways of thinking, testing different beliefs, and allowing new ideas to reshape my worldview. It was a time of curiosity and research, asking questions like "What else can I learn?" or "Who else has explored these concepts?" Finally, Rubedo, the red stage, symbolizes creation and offering. It represents living with wisdom and embracing a philosophy that transforms not only the self but also how we engage with others. For me, reaching this stage was not about hoarding wisdom but sharing it openly and humbly, understanding that enlightenment is ongoing and that everyone has their unique mysteries. One vital lesson from this process is to avoid getting stuck in Albedo, mistaking it for the final stage. True alchemy means turning the 'lead' of our challenges into the 'gold' of wisdom and growth, but this transformation involves continual learning and openness. Engaging with this alchemical journey personally has taught me to embrace uncertainty, connect without needing to conquer or fully understand, and respect the mystery each person carries. It’s been a humbling yet deeply rewarding path that encourages growth, compassion, and ongoing transformation.
