What if your brain doesn’t create consciousness?

Your brain processes 11 million bits of information every second.

You’re conscious of about 50.

So what’s happening to the rest?

For centuries, scientists assumed consciousness was something the brain produces, like a heart pumps blood, the brain generates awareness. But the more we study it, the stranger it gets.

We can map every neuron. Trace every signal. Predict your decisions before you make them.

And we still have absolutely no idea why any of it feels like something.

Philosopher David Chalmers calls this the Hard Problem of Consciousness, and it remains one of the most unsolved questions in all of science.

But some of the greatest minds in history have pointed in a different direction.

William James, the father of modern psychology suggested the brain may act as a filter, not a factory. Blocking out a vast field of consciousness rather than creating it.

Physicist Roger Penrose and anesthesiologist Stuart Hameroff proposed that quantum processes inside our neurons could be the bridge between physics and awareness suggesting consciousness may be woven into the fabric of reality itself.

And physics already tells us that reality is made of fields like electromagnetic, gravitational, quantum. Invisible. Everywhere. You move through them every second of your life without ever seeing them.

So here’s the question nobody can answer yet:

What if consciousness is one of those fields?

What if your brain isn’t a generator, but a receiver?

What if you’re not creating awareness from scratch, but tuning into something that was already there, vast and everywhere, waiting to be accessed?
