I remember when the first cardigan was released back in 2021—simple, monochrome designs representing core classes like Archer and Tank. Those early creations captured the essence of classic RPG aesthetics perfectly. Over time, the designs evolved significantly. Influenced by more elaborate game elements and the desire to stand out, the cardigans began featuring dual-tone colors and vibrant auras, representing classes such as Berserker, Bard, and Warlock with much more personality. The designer’s growth is evident in the latest releases like Dungeon Master and Paladin cardigans, which incorporate intricate details and improved craftsmanship. Having owned several of these cardigans, they weren’t just clothing but a way to express my love for MMORPGs, tabletop RPGs like DnD, and the gaming community at large. Each cardigan felt like armor for the real world, a nod to the characters we embody in our virtual adventures. While it’s disappointing that the old designs are discontinued, I appreciate the honesty about their evolution and the focus on quality in recent offerings. For those who still have an Assassin cardigan or others from the early series, consider yourself lucky to own a piece of RPG apparel history. Going forward, I’m eager to see how future designs can capture the spirit of RPGs in fresh, innovative ways—perhaps with new class inspirations or interactive features. In the meantime, sharing stories about our favorite cardigans and what they meant to our gaming journeys is a great way to keep the community spirit alive. If you’re like me, each cardigan was more than fabric—it was a badge of honor in the vibrant world of RPG and gaming culture.
