“you guys don’t go together”
yeah right.
Honestly, I've lost count of how many times people have looked at my partner and me, shaking their heads and muttering, 'you guys don't go together.' It used to sting, but now? Now, it just makes me smile and think, 'yeah right!' It's not about proving them wrong to them, it's about proving to ourselves how strong our bonding dynamics truly are. An invigorated relationship isn't just luck; it's intentional effort, a daily choice to nurture what we have. One of the first things we learned was the power of real, honest communication. It’s not just talking, it’s actively listening, truly understanding each other’s perspectives, even when they're different. We started having regular 'check-ins' – not formal meetings, but dedicated time to talk about our day, our feelings, our dreams, and any little thing that might be on our minds. This helped us align our paths and reinforce our connection, even if others couldn't see how our individual 'pieces' fit together so perfectly. Then there’s the 'Combo 7' factor, as I like to call it – finding those perfect combinations of activities and shared passions that bring us closer. Whether it's a quiet night in with our favorite movie, an adventurous hike exploring new trails, or trying a new, challenging recipe together in the kitchen, these shared experiences create a rich tapestry of memories and inside jokes that no outsider can ever truly understand. It builds a unique world just for us, strengthening our mutual bond with every moment. Support is another cornerstone of our invigorated relationship. When one of us is feeling down, facing a challenge, or simply having a tough day, the other is there, unconditionally. It’s about being each other’s biggest cheerleader and safest haven, a constant source of encouragement and comfort. Knowing you have someone who genuinely believes in you, even when you doubt yourself, is incredibly invigorating and makes you feel truly seen and valued. Ironically, the very things people claimed made us 'not go together' are often what ultimately make us stronger. We don’t have to be identical to be complementary. Our differences in personality, interests, and even our ways of thinking, bring unique perspectives and strengths to the table, making our relationship dynamic, exciting, and constantly evolving. It's about appreciating what each person brings, rather than trying to mold them into something they're not, celebrating our individuality while building a unified front. To keep our bond invigorated, we make a conscious effort to keep dating each other, even years into our relationship. Small gestures like a surprise coffee in the morning, a heartfelt compliment, or spontaneous adventures go a long way. It’s about never taking the other person for granted and always finding new ways to connect, learn, and deepen our understanding of each other. Our journey isn't about achieving a flawless relationship, but about continuous growth, unwavering commitment, and proving to ourselves every single day that we absolutely do go together, in the most wonderfully unique way possible.
