This past year taught me something I don’t think entrepreneurs talk about enough.
👉🏽 You don’t need a big circle.
The people who changed my life this past year? I can count them on one hand. Honestly, it’s really just 2 people.
Not because they’re giving me business advice or opening doors. But because they show up for me as a human being, not just as a business owner.
Entrepreneurship will quietly show you who’s around for you… and who’s around for what you can DO for them.
And when you find the few who genuinely care about you outside of what you’re building…
You realize a small circle isn’t a lack.
It’s a blessing. 🙏🏾

From personal experience, I’ve noticed that entrepreneurship often challenges the myth of going it alone—especially for introverts like myself. It’s easy to fall into the trap of thinking the more people in your network, the better. However, what truly matters is having a small group of people who show up as genuine human beings, not just as contacts or potential business leads. This past year, I realized that those who genuinely support me are the ones who check in not just when there’s success to celebrate, but also during moments of uncertainty and doubt. These are the friends who sit with you in silence, understand your struggles, and remind you that your value extends beyond your business achievements. Entrepreneurship can be isolating, and it quietly reveals who is present for you as a person and who is only interested in what you can offer. This insight can be humbling but also clarifying. It’s better to have a handful of real connections than a large network built on proximity and obligation. Building authentic relationships means embracing vulnerability and allowing others to see the human behind the business owner. When you do, the few who truly care become an invaluable source of strength, encouragement, and balance. In this way, the notion of needing a 'big circle' transforms into appreciating a small circle as a precious blessing that nurtures resilience and growth on your entrepreneurial journey.
