My partner and I recently decided to make a 90s themed photoshoot a new anniversary tradition, and let me tell you, it was an absolute blast! Nailing the Outfits: More Than Just White Tees and Jeans While simple white t-shirts and light blue jeans (as seen in some of our favorite shots!) are a quintessential 90s couple look, don't be afraid to explore other options. Think about incorporating: Denim on Denim: Overalls, denim jackets, distressed jeans – the more denim, the better! Oversized Everything: Baggy sweaters, flannel shirts, and graphic tees were huge. Mix and match with your partner for a cozy, coordinated look. Athleisure: Tracksuits, windbreakers, and classic sneakers bring in that sporty street style. Leather & Grunge: A timeless leather jacket or combat boots can add an edgy touch. For my partner, a simple pair of glasses like the ones he wore added to the smart-casual 90s feel. Black and white clothing, as we opted for in some of our photos, is also incredibly effective for that classic, raw 90s feel. Iconic Poses & Candid Moments This is where the magic happens for a 90s couple photoshoot! We wanted photos that felt natural and full of personality. We had a few shots where I was piggybacking on my partner, laughing and kissing his cheek – pure joy and movement, just like the candid moments described in one of our images. Candid Laughter & Kisses: My favorite shots were those where we were just genuinely laughing, like the one where he kissed my cheek and I couldn't stop giggling. These unposed moments are gold. Sitting Close: Whether on the floor or a stool, just sitting side-by-side or with your arms around each other, looking relaxed. The images of us sitting against a white background in black tees and jeans perfectly encapsulate this. The Lean: Leaning against a wall or each other, with a cool, nonchalant expression.
