One of the biggest irritations I encounter is the overuse of food delivery apps that often lead to cold meals, which takes away the enjoyment that fresh food should bring. Sometimes, despite the convenience, the quality just doesn’t match up to cooking at home. Another pet peeve is the lack of appreciation for local artists and food producers in a bustling city like Toronto. Supporting local not only helps the local economy but also enriches the cultural fabric of a community. I’ve noticed that stronger community ties can be built by promoting local food vendors and artists alike. Moreover, I often resonate with people who feel overwhelmed by social media’s portrayal of perfect meals and lifestyles. It can set unrealistic expectations and lead to frustration in our daily lives, especially when our own food experiences don’t look as polished or “Instagram-worthy.” Embracing authenticity and focusing on genuine enjoyment rather than perfection has been a game-changer for me. Sharing these relatable frustrations through art and conversation has helped me connect with others who feel similarly. Whether it’s through hashtags like #whatgrindsmygears or personal posts on TikTok and other platforms, it’s liberating to voice these daily challenges and find humor and community in shared experiences.
