First post here, have some art I’ve made!
I've always been drawn to the shadows and the stories they hold, which is probably why my art naturally gravitates towards the darker side of fantasy. There's something incredibly powerful about bringing a haunting vision to life with just pen and ink. When I'm working on a piece, like those detailed armored figures or the monstrous creatures that lurk in the background, I really aim to infuse them with a sense of history and menace. I find that pen and ink is perfect for capturing those intricate details – the texture of ancient armor, the glow in a gaunt figure's eyes, or the unsettling grin on a creature's face. It allows for a level of precision and contrast that digital art sometimes struggles to replicate, giving a timeless, almost etched quality to each image. One of the most rewarding aspects for me is crafting an entire world from scratch. I love thinking about how a vast, fantastical landscape under a cosmic sky would feel, or what kind of ancient secrets a fortified city with organic structures might hold. Each line I draw, especially when creating those ominous atmospheres, is a step deeper into that imagined realm. For instance, depicting a hooded figure with a trident, or a knight battling a multi-limbed beast, isn't just about drawing; it's about telling a silent story. I want viewers to wonder about their past, their struggles, and their destiny within these intricate scenes. The interaction between characters, whether it's a small crowned figure observing or an archer on a cobblestone path, adds layers of intrigue. I really enjoy exploring themes of power, mystery, and the ethereal. Whether it's the imposing presence of a dragon with glowing eyes looming over a cliff, or a somber scene where a silhouette faces a giant, hanging skull, I want to evoke a strong emotional response. The challenge is in using only black and white to convey so much depth and feeling. Cross-hatching, stippling, and varying line weights become my essential tools to create light, shadow, and texture, making a seemingly simple drawing feel incredibly rich and immersive. It's about building atmosphere, making the viewer feel the chill of a ruined interior or the weight of an ancient curse. Even when I design a character like 'Ivus The True,' focusing on every small detail – from his heavy armor to his gaunt face and trident – it's about building a narrative that people can connect with, even if it's a dark one. It's about giving life to these figures, making them feel real within their fantastical setting. I always strive for a balance between the gruesome and the beautiful, the terrifying and the captivating. I hope that when you look at my work, you not only appreciate the technical skill but also feel transported into these worlds, perhaps even finding a piece of yourself within their dark beauty and intricate stories.
