Obake- my favorite of the āOā ghosts. #phas #phasmaphobiagame #phasmophobia #phasmo #phasmaphobiaclips
Hey everyone! So, you're trying to figure out if that tricky ghost haunting your sanity is an Obake, right? Believe me, I've had my fair share of confusing hunts where I was almost certain it was an Obake, only to be thrown off. But after countless hours in Phasmophobia, I've developed a pretty solid "Obake test" strategy, especially for that real-time shapeshift ability! First off, the Obake is one of my absolute favorite types of ghosts because it keeps you on your toes. Its signature evidence, the fingerprints, are its biggest giveaway. Unlike most ghosts, an Obake can leave a unique 6-fingered handprint or a single finger print. This is HUGE! Always, always, always check those light switches, doors, and windows with your UV light after an interaction. I've been in so many situations where a quick UV sweep revealed that unmistakable extra finger, and I just knew I had a diva on my hands ā an Obake! The key is patience; sometimes it takes a few interactions before it leaves its unique mark. Don't give up after the first few normal prints you see! But hereās the real kicker, and what makes the Obake test so exciting: its shapeshifting. The OCR mentioned "OBAKE SHAPESHIFT - REAL TIME" and that's exactly what you need to look for. This isn't just lore; it's a verifiable piece of evidence. An Obake has a chance to change its model briefly during a flicker, or when interacting with an object. It's super subtle, often a blink-and-you-miss-it moment, but if you're patient and paying close attention, you can catch it. I remember one time, I was patiently watching a door that kept opening and closing. When I saw the ghost model flicker to something completely different for just a split second before returning to its original form, I yelled "Obake!" to my team. It felt incredible to confirm it in real-time. Itās like the ghost is saying, "COME get me, if you can!" Itās a definite "alright, this is it!" moment. To really test for this, try setting up cameras in its favorite room, especially pointing at frequently interacted objects like doors or fuse boxes. Keep an eye on the ghost events too. While it's rare, catching that real-time model change is definitive. A common mistake is to confuse general ghost flickers with its shapeshift; the Obake's shapeshift is a distinct, brief change of its actual ghost model. Beyond the fingerprints and shapeshift, remember Obake also gives off EMF 5 and Ghost Orbs. So, if you're getting those, and you've got suspicious fingerprints, start waiting for that shapeshift confirmation. Itās truly a baddie of a ghost, always keeping you guessing! Don't let it break your back trying to figure it out; just be patient, use your UV light diligently, and sometimes, you just have to trust your gut feeling after seeing enough of these ghosts. Another tip: if you're getting fingerprints but no other strong evidence, and you've ruled out other fingerprint ghosts like the Raiju or Phantom with their distinct behaviors, then start leaning heavily towards Obake and focus on spotting that shapeshift. It takes practice, but once you see it, you'll know. Happy hunting!
