... Read moreHey fellow ghost hunters! You know how sometimes you’re staring at the journal, trying to figure out which ghost is haunting you, and the Thaye just feels so elusive? I’ve been there countless times, especially on those '0 evidence, 0 sanity' runs, and I’ve picked up some tricks that really help. Many of you search for 'phasmophobia thaye journal entry' looking for quick answers, so let me share my personal guide to pinning down this tricky spirit. The Thaye is unique because its activity and speed change as you spend more time in the ghost room. When you first enter, it's super active and fast, almost like a Revenant. But as the investigation progresses and you stay in its vicinity, it ages, becoming slower and less active. This aging process is key to identifying it. One of the biggest 'tells' for a Thaye, which really clicked for me after seeing it play out countless times, is its line-of-sight speed. The OCR mentioned 'Thaye - No' for speed, implying it doesn't get faster when looping like a Moroi might initially appear. Instead, a young Thaye is inherently fast, but its speed will gradually decrease over time. If you're doing a speed test, try to observe its pace at the beginning of the hunt versus later on. If it starts out sprinting and then seems to slow down significantly after a few minutes, that’s a huge indicator. Unlike a Moroi which can speed up with line of sight (especially when you're low on sanity), the Thaye's speed is dictated by its age. Another crucial piece of the puzzle, and often a lifesaver, is the smudge stun time. My OCR notes frequently highlight 'Smudge Stun time: Thaye - Normal (5 sec)' versus 'Moroi - Long (7.5sec)'. This is a game-changer! If you smudge a ghost during a hunt and it's stunned for the standard 5 seconds, you're likely dealing with a Thaye. That extra 2.5 seconds for a Moroi is very noticeable and can save your life. I always carry smudges, and if I suspect a Thaye, I'll try to get a smudge off to confirm that stun duration. It’s an invaluable piece of 'journal-worthy' information that isn't always obvious. Beyond these unique behavioral traits, remember the Thaye's standard evidence: Spirit Box, G.O.R.B., and Ghost Writing. Always prioritize trying to get these if you’re playing with evidence. However, even without evidence, observing its speed decay and testing smudge durations are incredibly reliable methods. When hunting a Thaye, I usually try to bait a few hunts early on to gauge its initial speed. Then, I’ll spend some time in the ghost room, maybe setting up motion sensors or sound sensors to track its activity. If I notice a significant drop in ghost event frequency or hunt speed, my suspicion for Thaye goes way up. Don't forget that if you leave the location and re-enter, the Thaye will not reset its age – it keeps aging based on the total time spent in the building. So, next time you're facing a tricky ghost and searching for 'thaye phasmophobia' tips, remember these key identifiers: the decaying speed over time and the standard 5-second smudge stun. These insights have dramatically improved my success rate, turning confusing hunts into clear identifications. Happy ghost hunting!
