Obviously I’m only demonstrating in the van, you would actually do this in a hiding spot inside the map while the ghost is hunting. #phasmophobia #phasmophobiagame #phasmaphobiaclips #phas #phasmo
Hey everyone, I've had so many frustrating hunts in Phasmophobia where I just couldn't figure out if I was dealing with a Dayan ghost. You know, the one that speeds up dramatically when it's far away but slows right down when it gets close? It's terrifying, especially when you're caught off guard! Well, I finally cracked the code with a super simple, yet effective, strategy for testing for a Dayan (often referred to as a Deogen) right from your hiding spot! I used to panic, thinking any movement would give me away, but this trick is a total game-changer. The OCR even says, "No, the ghost won't find you!" – and it's true, if you do it right. Here’s what you do: During a ghost hunt, once you're safely tucked away in a hiding spot – and I mean a really good one, not just out in the open like my van demonstration – you need to hold a movement key down. Seriously, just press and hold 'W' or 'A' or 'S' or 'D'. You won't actually move out of your spot if you're blocked, but the game *still registers that as movement*. Now, why does this work so well for a Dayan? As the OCR notes, "They are faster when you're moving and slower when you stand still!" By holding that movement key down, the Dayan thinks you're on the move, causing "HER SPEED UP." You'll hear its footsteps or sounds intensify as it hunts around the map. If you then release the movement key, you should notice its speed decrease significantly, especially if it's pathing near your hiding spot. That distinct change in speed, triggered by your 'movement,' is a huge indicator you're dealing with a Dayan. I've used this countless times now, and it’s been incredibly reliable. It’s like tricking the ghost’s AI into revealing itself without putting yourself in actual danger. Just remember to pick a solid "hiding place" first! After confirming it's a Dayan, you can adjust your strategy, knowing it's almost impossible to outrun them once they're close, but you can use line of sight and objects to break their pathing. This test has truly elevated my Phasmophobia game, making those terrifying hunts a little less mysterious and a lot more manageable. Give it a try on your next investigation, and let me know how it goes!
