🏡 The Father Never Stopped Looking

📖 Luke 15:11-32

The part of the story that moves me most isn’t that the son left.

It’s that the Father never stopped waiting.

The son wasted opportunities.

The son made mistakes.

The son walked away.

Yet every day, the Father looked down the road.

💭 Can you imagine that?

Not waiting with anger.

Not waiting with condemnation.

Not waiting to say “I told you so.”

But waiting with love.

Waiting with grace.

Waiting with open arms.

🕊 Sometimes we are the prodigal son.

We wander.

We drift.

We try to do life our own way.

And after we’ve exhausted ourselves, we wonder:

“Will God still want me?”

The answer is yes.

Before the son could even make it home, the Father saw him from a distance and ran to meet him.

✨ That’s the kind of God we serve.

A God who runs toward the broken.

A God who welcomes the weary.

A God who celebrates restoration.

Today’s Reminder:

You may have wandered.

You may have fallen.

You may have made choices you regret.

But if you’re coming home, you’ll find a Father whose arms are still open.

💛 You are not too far gone.

💛 You are not forgotten.

💛 You are still loved.

... Read moreReflecting on the story of the prodigal son, it truly resonates how the father's unwavering patience and love offer a profound example of divine grace. From my personal experience, I've found moments of wandering and making mistakes in life can often leave us feeling isolated or unworthy of forgiveness. Yet, stories like this remind us there is always a pathway back, where unconditional love awaits without judgment. In daily life, it’s easy to get caught up in regrets and self-condemnation, thinking we have strayed too far to be accepted. However, the key takeaway is that the father’s gaze never left the horizon—he continued to hope, wait, and prepare open arms for the son’s return. This illustrates an important spiritual truth: no matter how far one moves away or how poor the choices might be, there is a loving presence ready to embrace and restore. For many who identify as the 'prodigal son,' this story is life-affirming, offering reassurance that God’s love transcends human failings. This grace is not grudging but joyful, celebrating the restoration and renewal rather than dwelling on past faults. It's a powerful reminder that God's love is proactive and persistent, reaching out to the broken and weary. In practical terms, embracing this perspective can transform how we view our own journeys and the journeys of others. Instead of harsh judgment, approaching life with empathy and hope can uplift those who feel lost. Whether in faith communities or personal relationships, this model encourages patience, kindness, and readiness to welcome back anyone seeking to return to a place of belonging. Ultimately, the story calls us to reflect on the gracious nature of God, who 'runs toward the broken' with open arms. It inspires us to practice forgiveness and love in our own lives, fostering an environment where healing and restoration are always possible. No matter how far we wander, this parable reassures us that we are never too far gone, never forgotten, and always deeply loved.
