After finally tackling my overflowing bathroom cabinet, I feel like a weight has been lifted! There’s nothing quite like opening a cabinet to find everything neatly in its place. For me, a big part of this project was giving my skincare collection, especially my beloved CeraVe products, a proper home. When you’re organizing your bathroom shelf, especially for skincare, it’s not just about tidiness; it's about creating a functional routine. I started by pulling everything out. Yes, every single bottle, jar, and tube! It’s amazing what accumulates. Then, I went through each item. Is it expired? Do I actually use it? Be ruthless! This decluttering step is crucial, and you'll be surprised how much space you gain. For my CeraVe skincare, I like to keep my daily essentials – cleanser, moisturizer, and serum – front and center on the main shelf. This makes my morning and evening routine seamless. Products I use less frequently, like masks or special treatments, go a bit further back or on a higher shelf. I find that grouping similar products together, like all my CeraVe hydrating cleansers together, then all my moisturizers, really helps. Don't forget about other personal care items that often share the bathroom shelf space. My cabinet now has designated sections for first aid supplies, makeup, and hair care. For first aid, I designated a small, labeled container for bandages, antiseptic wipes, and pain relievers. This keeps them separate but easily accessible. Makeup brushes and palettes got their own compact organizer, preventing them from scattering everywhere. And my hair care products, like shampoos, conditioners, and styling sprays, found a home on the bottom shelf, as they're often taller. One game-changer was incorporating a 'self-care basket.' This is where I keep items for a relaxing bath or a pampering session – a face mask, a nice body lotion, bath bombs, and even a small candle. It’s like a little treat drawer! Woven baskets or clear acrylic trays, like the ones I used, are fantastic for containing smaller items and preventing them from toppling over. They also make cleaning a breeze; you can just lift the whole basket to wipe down the shelf. Once everything is in its designated spot, the key is maintenance. A quick tidy-up every week or so keeps things from spiraling out of control. It’s not about perfection, but about creating a system that works for you and makes your daily routine a little bit calmer and more enjoyable. Seeing my organized CeraVe skincare and other essentials now makes me so happy!
