Highlights of my week as a college student in NYC…

We often find ourselves just relaxing in our dorms, maybe watching some classic SNL sketches and catching up. It’s a simple joy, but those moments are essential for recharging. And speaking of unwinding, the food scene here is something else! While campus dining is convenient, exploring off Campus eats with a friend is always a highlight. There are endless hidden gems and diverse cuisines to try, from budget-friendly spots to those special occasion treats. It’s a fantastic way to discover new neighborhoods and flavors. Beyond the social outings, it’s important to maintain personal routines. For me, my walk to church on Sundays is a peaceful start to the day, offering a moment of reflection amidst the city's hustle. And let's be real, no NYC Sunday is complete without a proper bagel! My go-to is usually loaded with cream cheese, salmon, and green onions – pure perfection. It’s those little traditions that make this big city feel like home. NYC also means incredible opportunities for personal passions. I'm involved in a tap rehearsal group, and the energy of practicing in studios right here in the city is exhilarating. And of course, living in New York means Broadway is practically on our doorstep. Catching a show is always a magical experience, a reminder of the unparalleled arts and culture available here. It’s truly inspiring to be surrounded by such talent and creativity. Finding your own cozy little corner within your dorm or apartment is crucial for focus and comfort. Mine is usually where I can read or just relax, surrounded by things that make me feel at home. On warmer days, taking my reading outside to one of the many parks or green spaces around campus is a breath of fresh air. It’s amazing how many quiet spots you can find, even in this bustling metropolis. And let's not forget the daily fit check! Living in NYC, you're constantly walking, so comfort and style often go hand-in-hand. It's fun to put together outfits that are practical for city life but also express my personality. My advice for anyone considering college in NYC? Embrace the chaos, explore every corner, and don't be afraid to step outside your comfort zone. It's a city that keeps giving, and every week brings new adventures, lessons, and memories. Balancing academics with the incredible opportunities here can be challenging, but it’s incredibly rewarding. You learn so much about yourself and the world around you.
