New IKEA 📍Culver City
IKEA invited me to a party last night so I could get a sneak peek at the space, anddddd eat all the swedish meatballs a girl could want 😅 The Grand opening is Satuday & they’re having a block partyyyy! @IKEA
Parking ✨
I parked on Venice at a meter, its 2 hour parking there. But, there is a small lot in the center, it fills up quickly though! This is a City Center IKEA inside the old Helms Bakery building.
The Nitty Gritty ✨
The grand opening event on Saturday, May 2 will feature live music, free coffee, food samples, giveaways, children's activities, and more.
The opening ceremony will be held at 10 a.m., followed by a Block Party from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The first 500 visitors will receive a custom IKEA blue bag.
Visiting the new IKEA City Center in Culver City feels like a fresh and unique experience compared to traditional IKEA stores. Since this location doesn't carry large furniture items, it makes shopping much easier for those who prefer quick trips or use public transport. The Market Hall is stocked with smaller essentials and quirky home accessories, perfect for sprucing up your space without the hassle of bulky deliveries. One of the highlights that truly stood out was the on-site café. Whether you're craving the classic Swedish meatballs or want to try something new like the Lingonberry Mule or the POANG Spritz signature cocktail, the café offers a delightful pause during your visit. I especially loved trying the mocktails — a great option for those who prefer non-alcoholic beverages with Scandinavian flair. Parking can be a bit tricky since the City Center store is nestled inside the historic Helms Bakery building. Metered spots on Venice Boulevard offer two-hour limits, so plan accordingly, or try to arrive early to secure a spot in the small parking lot, which fills up quickly. The grand opening block party is a fantastic community event featuring live DJs, character artists who do amazing caricatures, and plenty of freebies like the custom IKEA blue bags for the first 500 visitors. Kids will enjoy the dedicated activities, making it a great family outing. Overall, the IKEA City Center Culver City offers a vibrant shopping atmosphere combined with cultural experiences and savory treats. If you're in Los Angeles, make sure to carve out time for this new hotspot — it’s definitely going to be a regular stop on my list!
