毎日の子供のお片付けにイライラすること、親なら誰しも経験があると思います。筆者もかつては「片付けて！」と何回も叫び、子供が動かないことにフラストレーションを感じていました。しかし、言語聴覚士（ST）としての20年の経験と、3人の育児から学んだことは、子供の「やる気」がないのではなく、伝え方が適切でない場合が多いということです。 特に大切なのは「指示の具体化」です。例えば、「全部片付けて」ではなく、「この車のおもちゃを青い箱にしまおう」と具体的に示すことで、子供の脳はフリーズせず、何をすべきかが明確になって動きやすくなります。また、「お片付けしなさい」といった義務的な言葉は、子供にとってストレスや反抗心を生みやすいため、「おもちゃさんをおうちに帰してあげよう」という擬人化した伝え方に変えると、遊び感覚に近づき、片付けが楽しい活動に変わります。 さらに、自律心を促すポイントとして、子供に選択肢を与えることも効果的です。「まずブロックから？それとも絵本？」と尋ねることで、子供は自分で決めた感覚を持ち、やる気を引き出せます。この「選択」のモーメントは強制ではなく、自発的な行動につながりやすいのです。 私も実際にこの方法を試してみて、以前よりも子供が自分から片付けを始める場面が増え、親子のイライラが大幅に減りました。声かけひとつで、子育てのストレスが軽減されるのはとても嬉しい変化です。お子さんの年齢や性格にあわせて声かけの内容を調整することもポイントですから、ぜひ気軽に試してみてください。きっと毎日の片付けタイムが、笑顔あふれる穏やかな時間に変わるはずです。
