I was fired from a job I never started
Years ago, I had been applying to jobs. I had found a great fit. It was a room teaching assistant position with a company that helps people. The classrooms were essentially cheaper daycares for those who couldn’t afford the more expensive ones. Basically, income based.
I had interviewed. The lead teacher and I got along well. I was told I was being hired. The red flag began when communication was scarce. A month after the interview, they emailed me saying I need to pass a drug test. No problem. Another few weeks before they tell me where to go and how to schedule it.
I email them that I did it. Another few weeks go by and nothing. I was reaching out at that point asking when I was starting and everything. I was really excited too.
No response from anyone! Another few weeks go by and by this time, I had already found a job. This email was a termination letter. It stated that I was being let go from the company.
But I never even started the actual job there! 😂 I never gave them a reason to fire me without starting. It was all around ridiculous. I laugh at it now because it’s like, what the hell? But in the moment, I was so anxious and stressed.
At the end of the day, I landed somewhere else.
