Life has been hard (NOT SPONSORED)
A couple of weeks ago my husband asked for the 5th time for a divorce and even though I keep agreeing it’s been a back and forth thing. As of right now it’s a 90/10… we agreed to go to therapy. He had his second session (which he gets free sessions through his work) yesterday. I am able to get it as well through his work but it’s gotten complicated where now I need to call and say this and that to get my free session code and what not it’s not quick enough or time efficient.
I finally decided I wanted to do it myself. So today I created a BetterHelp account and haven’t first session next Tuesday. I am already matched and set.
I’ll update after the session. I have never been through therapy but with everything currently going on and all the hell I’ve been through the last 19 years with him and his family… it’s time…

Update 12/16: Best thing I’ve ever done for myself and it’s only been one session!
Preparing for therapy sessions, especially your first live video session like mine scheduled for Tue, Dec 16, 2025 at 11:00am MST, can feel overwhelming yet hopeful. Therapy offers a safe space to explore emotions related to divorce and long-term relationship struggles. With BetterHelp, the convenience of scheduling sessions online removes many barriers, although accessing free sessions through work benefits might require extra steps like requesting referral codes. Many people facing divorce find that therapy not only helps process the emotional pain but also aids in developing coping strategies and improving overall mental wellness. It’s important to know that therapy is a personal journey; some sessions might bring up intense feelings, but they are essential for healing. If you’re new to therapy, you might want to prepare by jotting down what you want to discuss, or any questions about the therapy process itself. Remember, therapists guide you through every step, and your comfort matters. Online platforms like BetterHelp provide access to licensed therapists who can support you through relationship challenges, anxiety, or depression. You can connect from home and often choose session times that fit your schedule. Referral links or discounts can help make therapy more affordable. This journey is about prioritizing your mental health and creating space for growth beyond hardship. If you’re considering therapy during difficult times, reaching out for resources and being open about your needs is a brave and important first step.
