oatsome review pt 2 ✨

This time I tried 3 flavours and I think they are better than the previous ones hehe 😋

My review of the 3 flavours:

1. Genmaicha Dark Choco Mango $22, 9/10 ⭐️

What I liked:

- genmaicha is light, lets the dark choco and mango shine but can still taste the genmaicha

- cheree explained the above ^ if not the genmaicha wouldn’t have been strong enough for me

- interesting flavour combination

- crumbles have 2 diff flavours

- mangoes are not sour

What I didn’t like:

- mangoes don’t have that floral sweet taste that i like (personal preference)

- kinda expensive

2. Hojicha Dark Chocolate $22, 9/10 ⭐️

What I liked:

- hojicha is strong

- hojicha pairs well with the dark chocolate

- my fav

- nice dark choco crumbles which the hojicha strawb in my previous post didn’t have

What I didn’t like:

- price

3. Dirty Pistachio $25, 7.5/10 ⭐️

What I liked:

- pistachio butter enhanced the pistachio taste

- crumbles are ok, generous (a bit too much for me, would have preferred more yoghurt)

What I didn’t like:

- pistachio flavour in the yoghurt not enough

- not enough yoghurt

- kinda boring since it’s crumbles, yoghurt, dark choco and biscuits again

- kinda expensive

I really like the genmaicha mango and hojicha. My wallet suffers every month cos i keep going back to buy their parfaits 😔, it’s becoming an addiction :(

However, I think they could have given more yoghurt, like the yoghurt to additions ratio is not rlly even. Yoghurt is creamy and the thickness is just right, so pls add more hehe :) I don’t mind if u put less biscuits or crumbles.

They can also change the filling instead of dark choco and biscuits in every tub, so that it’s not so boring. Maybe more fruits like the genmaicha mango & dubai choc strawb, or add flavours into the dark chocolate like coffee power idk. I also look forward to more additions in the menu like their apple cinnamon tart which looks so good 😛

Cheree and Andy are really wholesome people, always greeting customers, thanking them for waiting so long in the hot afternoon sun, putting up fans outside, and taking time to explain their products. I appreciate their kindness and will continue to support them. Pls don’t shrink the tubs though, that would break my heart fr 💔

... Read moreTrying a variety of parfaits like those from Oatsome can really open your palate to unique flavor combinations. For instance, the blend of genmaicha, dark chocolate, and mango creates a well-balanced taste where the subtlety of the tea enhances but does not overpower the richer notes. From my experience, genmaicha's slightly nutty flavor combined with a fruity mango creates a refreshing twist that feels both indulgent and light. When it comes to hojicha paired with dark chocolate, I’ve found it to be a comforting duo. The roasted, earthy quality of hojicha complements the bittersweetness of dark chocolate perfectly. This pairing not only works in parfaits but also in drinks and desserts alike, making it a versatile favorite among tea lovers. Pistachio-flavored desserts can sometimes feel muted, but adding pistachio butter like Oatsome does can really amplify that nutty richness. However, balancing this richness with enough creamy yogurt is key to preventing the parfait from feeling heavy or monotonous. I also agree that variation in the mix-ins – like substituting biscuits and chocolate crumbles with seasonal fruits or different textures – can keep the experience exciting. This can also cater to those who seek fresher or lighter dessert options. Pricing is always a consideration when indulging regularly in specialty parfaits, especially handcrafted ones with quality ingredients. While these options may seem costly, the artisanal approach and customer engagement, like that demonstrated by Cheree and Andy, add value that goes beyond just the food. Lastly, supporting small businesses that show genuine care and connection with their customers enhances the enjoyment of the product. Their attention to customer comfort and explanation of flavors builds a loyal community. I’ve found that treating myself to such treats occasionally helps balance my routine with joyful experiences. If you’re new to Oatsome or similar parfaits, trying multiple flavors helps identify your favorites and appreciate how subtle ingredient changes affect taste and texture. And don't hesitate to share your thoughts with the creators —many small brands welcome feedback to improve and innovate their offerings. This interaction enriches both the product and the customer experience.
