3 Step Outfit Swap for ChatGPT/Ai image generation

So I know a lot of people HATE AI, and call everything it does “slop”… well, I’d like to politely disagree on the slop part for just a moment. It is still a useful TOOL for creatives and fashionistas

Let me preface by saying I have used Adobe since I was 12 years old, and I’m 33 now. I have never seen a better “photoshop” quickie than ChatGPT’s photo generations. I’m not saying to do this for your artwork or anything you want to sell or show as completely done by you - so this is really just a fun trick I use while prompting the AI to see myself in different outfits with specific scenes and filters.

I have a range of styles, and sometimes, I’d like to wear something I imagine in my head. I can quickly prompt Midjourney ( I admit I had to take a whole certification in prompt engineering to be able to get my ideas generated properly by the Ai, but these prompts for chatGPT are simple and can easily be expanded upon) and it will show 4 variations of my imagined outfit. I can also search and discover other fashions and outfits on Midjourney. It’s all in fun, so I try all kinds of fashions.

I wont gatekeep my prompt, because it can be useful in trying on outfits you have seen online as well.

Step 1: Go into your ChatGPT. you can choose to use their image generation app specifically or just go right into prompting.

Step 2: Add 1 outfit photo, and then 2 facial photos. You can add a full body pose if your like, but it’s decent at generating the body. In total there should be 3-4 photos.

Step 3: Use this prompt - “imagine this model in the provided outfit” or “take the outfit from image 1 and apply it to the model in image 2 and 3” add: “keep the models facial features the same, do not change the face.”; you can also add “create as a full body candid photo” or “create as an editorial photo for a magazine”… basically any scene/style photo you prefer. Hasselblad 35mm is also a popular filter style for photos.

Full prompt example: “Use the outfit from the first photo and put it on the model in the second and third photo. Use the models face exactly, without losing the features. Create it as a Kodak candid moment with Y2K flash/filter.”

Example follow-up prompts: “Recreate the photo above as a single full body shot with a Hasselblad 35mm filter, adding a vintage Victorian-like living room to the background of the photo.”
