WHAT YOU’RE USING IS WORKING AGAINST YOU
We’re told everything is ‘good for your skin’…
Well… it’s not
After 15+ years in the beauty industry, you start to notice what’s actually happening
Formulas filled with:
• Unnecessary fillers
• Harsh ingredients that slowly wear down your skin barrier
And people think their skin is the problem
It’s not
It’s what we’ve been told is ‘normal’
That’s why I do things differently—
Simple, intentional formulas that actually support your skin
Because it doesn’t need more…
It needs better 🌼
Having spent over 15 years in the beauty industry, I've seen firsthand how many widely used skincare products harm rather than help our skin. It's eye-opening how common ingredients like synthetic fragrances, petrochemicals, and unnecessary fillers are still heavily used despite their damaging effects on the skin barrier. From my own experience and client feedback, these harsh ingredients cause redness, dryness, and increased sensitivity over time. I personally shifted to simple, intentionally formulated natural skincare products. Ingredients such as glycerin, aloe vera, plant-based oils, and botanical extracts provide hydration and nourishment without stripping the skin's natural defenses. Avoiding parabens, phthalates, mineral oil, and synthetic preservatives has made a world of difference in maintaining a balanced, resilient skin barrier. One crucial lesson learned is that over-exfoliation and aggressive actives contribute further to skin barrier disruption. Instead, it's essential to adopt a minimalist routine focused on restoring and protecting with soothing, barrier-supporting ingredients. For example, ceramides, fatty acids, and cholesterol mimic the skin's natural lipid barrier to aid repair. Additionally, ingredient awareness is key. Just because a label says “natural” doesn't guarantee it's gentle or effective. Reading ingredient lists and knowing which chemicals to avoid empower consumers to make better choices aligned with their skin’s needs. Switching to clean beauty not only improves skin health but also reduces exposure to potentially toxic chemicals linked to long-term health concerns. I encourage anyone struggling with persistent skin issues to consider what they’re putting on their face — it might be working against them, not for them. Ultimately, your skin deserves better: fewer synthetic additives and more nurturing, natural ingredients that support its natural function and radiance.
