私も沖縄で紫陽花を地植えして育てていますが、やはりこの地域特有の多湿環境と長雨が育成のポイントになります。紫陽花は日本の梅雨時期に美しく咲く花ですが、沖縄のように雨が続く地域では土の水はけを意識することが重要です。 実際に地植えした場所の土質を改善したり、根元に軽石などを混ぜて水はけを良くすると、根腐れを防ぐことができます。私の経験からも、肥料は梅雨前にあげておくと開花が良く、花の色も鮮やかになります。 また、叔母さんが育てている紫陽花が元気なのは、日常的に葉の風通しを良くし、古い葉や枯れた花をこまめに取り除いているからだと思います。こうした手入れは病害虫の予防にもつながります。 沖縄で紫陽花を楽しむなら、定期的な観察と土の管理が鍵。雨の多い季節でも元気に育てられれば、お庭に色とりどりの美しい花が咲き誇ります。ぜひ挑戦してみてくださいね。
