Daily Bread
But what does 1 Peter 1:14-16 mean?! Let’s eat :)💕
🥖 This passage calls believers in Christ to live a life marked by obedience and holiness. Peter is encouraging Christians to refrain from their past sinful desires “the former lusts" which stem from refusal or unawareness of God’s ways. Instead, he exhorts them to strive for holiness in their lives, reflecting the character of God which we can receive the ability from His spirit! The reference to "Be holy, for I am holy" draws from Leviticus 11:44-45, emphasizing that holiness is an essential attribute of God and a standard for His people.
(Which we can only access through Him)
This call is not merely about moral behavior; it is an invitation to embody the nature of God in our daily conduct and interactions. It reminds us that as followers of Christ, we are transformed and called to live differently, not for ourselves, but in accordance with God’s will for His glory!
