The announcement that another actor has been appointed as the image character of the popular confectionery that Arakaki has been used in advertisements for many years seems to be surprising among fans.
Speaking of Arakaki, he is also known for appearing in advertisements for Meiji's winter limited chocolate "Melty Kiss" since 2011. After announcing his marriage to singer Gen Hoshino (44) in May 2021, he continued to do so.
In the CM of 24 years, the co-star appeared for the first time in the 14th year of the image character appointment.
On the other hand, Meiji released a new graphic and commercial featuring actor Natsuki Deguchi (24) as the image character of "Melty Kiss" on October 21, 2013.
It was announced that the "Winter Meeting" version will be aired from the same day. The familiar theme song has been changed as it is, and the singing voice has changed.
While the new CM gained popularity with X, "Isn't it Melty Kiss CM Gacky!?" "I'm too shocked..." 私が今回いちばん驚いたのは、「メルティーキッス＝新垣結衣（ガッキー）」っていう長年のイメージが、ある日ふっと更新された感覚でした。Xで「ガッキー」「メルティーキッス」が並んでトレンドに入っていて、最初は何事…？と検索。調べたら、出口夏希さんが新しいイメージキャラクターになっていて、あの“雪のようなくちどけ”の世界観はそのままなのに、空気が一気に変わった感じがして、そりゃ「ショックすぎ」って声も出るよね…と。 ただ、冷静に見ると新CM自体は評判が良いのも分かりました。雪景色の中でチョコを持って笑う出口夏希さん、透明感が強くて「好きになっちゃうよ。」のコピーも自然にハマってる。メルティーキッスの“冬の待ち合わせ”っていう甘いシチュエーションに、今の旬な空気を入れてきた印象です。だからこそ、否定というより「寂しさ」が先に来るファンが多いのかも。 一方で、ガッキーが完全に明治のCMから消えたわけじゃない、という点は安心材料でした。画像でも見かけた明治の新商品「生のとき」では、和服っぽい衣装でチョコを持って微笑んでいて、あの落ち着いた大人っぽさがすごく似合う。「生のコク」「生のチョコレートとは違う」みたいな表現も、メルティーキッスの“冬のかわいさ”とは別の方向で、ガッキーの魅力を使ってる感じがしました。メルティーキッスを卒業して“大人の階段”って言われるの、分かる気がする。 あと、検索している人が多い「新垣結衣cm」や「新垣結衣 画像」「新垣結衣 顔 正面」みたいなワードって、結局“いまのガッキーが見たい”気持ちの裏返しだと思うんです。今回みたいに話題が出たタイミングで、過去のメルティーキッスCM（2011年頃から）を見返したくなるし、ドラゴン桜や「けもなれ」みたいな出演作まで芋づる式に見直したくなる。 私は「メルティーキッスのCM＝冬が来た合図」だったから、交代はやっぱり寂しい。でも出口夏希さんの新しい冬の空気も受け入れつつ、ガッキーは「生のとき」みたいな別の場所で、また違う魅力を見せてくれるはず。そう思うと、ショックと同時に“次のCMで何を見せてくれるんだろう”って、ちょっと楽しみも湧いてきました。
