my dreams are extra
It's incredible how our minds create these elaborate worlds every night, isn't it? Lately, I've noticed my dreams have become exceptionally vivid – so much so that I often feel like I'm truly 'seeing' people, interacting with them, and experiencing full-blown narratives. It’s why I often say, 'my dreams are extra'! They’re not just fleeting images; they’re immersive adventures where I genuinely feel connected, almost like I'm meeting friends and loved ones in a whole other dimension. I’ve been reflecting on why my dreams have taken on this heightened quality. For me, it often ties back to how I process my day. If I’ve had a lot on my mind, or if I’m working through something creatively, my brain seems to use dreamland as a canvas. I also find that focusing on mindfulness during the day, and taking time to truly unwind before bed, makes a huge difference. Instead of jumping straight into scrolling, I try to read a physical book or just sit quietly, letting my thoughts settle. One thing I've personally found interesting is the connection between my lifestyle choices and dream quality. I've been exploring a more plant-based approach to my diet, leaning towards VEGAN meals, and I genuinely believe it contributes to a lighter, more restorative sleep, which in turn can lead to more memorable dreams. When my body feels nourished and less bogged down, my mind seems freer to wander and create. I'm not saying it's a magic bullet, but it's been a noticeable change for me. Eating light, nutrient-rich foods seems to prevent that heavy, restless feeling that can often disrupt sleep. If you're someone who wishes they could 'see' people more clearly in their dreams, or simply remember them better, here are a few things I’ve tried that might help you too: Start a Dream Journal: The moment you wake up, before you even open your eyes fully, try to recall everything. Jot down even the tiniest fragment. The more you practice, the better your recall becomes. I keep one right by my bed! Establish a Relaxing Bedtime Routine: Consistency is key. A warm bath, herbal tea, or gentle stretching can signal to your body it's time to wind down. Avoid bright screens at least an hour before bed. Set an Intention: Before you drift off, tell yourself that you want to remember your dreams, or even specifically, that you'd like to 'see' someone in your dream. It's surprising how powerful intention can be. Mindful Reflection: During the day, take moments to notice your surroundings and ask yourself, "Am I dreaming?" This practice can sometimes carry over into your sleep, potentially leading to lucid dreaming where you gain some control. When I do 'see' people in my dreams, whether they’re familiar faces or strangers, I often reflect on what those encounters might mean. Sometimes it's simply my brain processing recent interactions, other times it feels like a deeper symbolic message. It's a fascinating journey of self-discovery. So, next time you're about to fall asleep, embrace the possibility of connecting with others in that unique, 'extra' dream world!
