At the age of old age, the body decomposes as usual, and what it used to do is impossible, and illness and tiredness appear. This is the physical suffering that no one can avoid.
But at the same time, if our hearts knowingly accept the truth, do not struggle, we will find the happiness of the heart, the happiness of the elderly, not the accumulation of things like youth, but the joy of rest, putting, appreciating the present breath, living among posterity, or even sitting calm, looking at nature unattached, that is true happiness.
The Buddha said, "How untimely are the myths?" So the decline and sickness are not enemies, but teachers who remind us of vanity. When we accept it with wisdom, the heart is light, the suffering is light.
So the happiness of the elderly is truly to let go, not to worry about the past, not to worry about the future, to live with the present in compassion for themselves and others.
