Should I stop lending her any more money?
My sister is terrible with money. She’s got a solid job but she’s always spending more than she makes. Over two years, I’ve lent her money so many times. Every single time, she swears she’ll pay me back by a date then blows it by weeks, sometimes months. I have to text her, just to get her to follow through. And she gets mad saying I’m pushy.
She finally pays but it’s always a hassle that drains me. Yesterday, she hit me up for $1500, said she owed for the rent. I said no and told her her constant late payments broke my trust, and I can’t keep being her safety net. She needs to learn to budget for the stuff she wants.
She flipped out and called me selfish, a bad sister for letting her struggle. My mom even rang me up, saying I should help her to keep family from fighting. I can afford the $1500 but I’m so tired of this. Wanting her to be reliable shouldn’t be too much, right?
