Water alone was my initial go-to for cleansing, as it didn’t worsen the inflammation or sting, but it didn't provide much relief either. That’s when I started using tallow-based products, which made a noticeable difference. Tallow is a rendered form of beef fat, rich in nutrients like vitamins A, D, E, and K, as well as essential fatty acids. These components closely mimic the natural oils our skin produces, making tallow products incredibly nourishing and compatible, especially for sensitive or damaged skin. What stood out to me was how tallow helped restore my skin’s natural barrier. Instead of harsh chemicals or synthetic ingredients, tallow moisturized deeply without clogging pores or triggering further irritation. I noticed reduced redness and a softer, more balanced complexion after consistent use. If you’re dealing with skin sensitivity or allergic reactions, simplifying your skincare routine can be beneficial. Avoiding multiple products and focusing on gentle, nutrient-rich ingredients like tallow can support skin healing. Additionally, adopting a diet aligned with an animal-based or carnivore lifestyle, which I follow, seemed to complement my skincare results by providing essential fatty acids and vitamins from whole foods.
