What actually helped with my PCOS 🫶

I’ve been healing my PCOS naturally no meds, just deep root cause work. After years of struggling with irregular cycles, acne, and mood swings, I finally got answers through functional lab testing like the GI-MAP and DUTCH. I focused on balancing blood sugar, gut healing, and supporting my hormones through lifestyle, not prescriptions. It’s been a journey, but now my periods are regular, my skin is clearer, and I feel so much more connected to my body. 🫶🏻

I’m still navigating other layers of healing including endometriosis and post-viral pots but giving my body the support it needed for PCOS has made a huge difference in how I show up for myself daily. Healing is never linear, but it is always worth it. 💛

It’s not easy to share, but I know how much hearing others’ stories has helped me. I’ll be sharing tips and more about my health journey to support and spread awareness. Stay tuned 💛

... Read moreHealing Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) naturally involves addressing several core physiological factors that contribute to its symptoms. Functional lab testing such as the GI-MAP and DUTCH tests plays a crucial role in uncovering underlying imbalances in gut microbiome, hormone levels, and detoxification pathways. The GI-MAP test evaluates gut health by analyzing bacteria, yeast, parasites, and markers of inflammation or immune response, helping identify imbalances that may trigger or worsen PCOS symptoms. The DUTCH test provides a detailed profile of hormone levels and metabolites, including estrogen, progesterone, androgens, and cortisol, which are vital in understanding hormonal dysregulation typical in PCOS. Focusing on blood sugar balance is another important strategy. Insulin resistance is a common feature of PCOS that exacerbates hormonal imbalance. Implementing a nutrition plan that stabilizes blood sugar through low-glycemic foods, regular meals, and avoiding refined carbohydrates can significantly improve symptoms. Coupled with gut healing, reducing inflammation by supporting liver detoxification pathways and enhancing digestion helps reduce bloating, skin breakouts, and mood swings. Lifestyle adaptations such as stress management, regular physical activity, and sufficient sleep further support hormone balance and facilitate detoxification. It is important to note that healing PCOS is a gradual, nonlinear process—it requires patience and ongoing adjustments tailored to individual needs. Many who struggle with PCOS find that conventional approaches using medication might not address the root causes. Instead, a holistic approach that supports gut health and hormonal balance from within can lead to improvement in menstrual regularity, skin clarity, and emotional well-being. Sharing experiences and health journeys helps cultivate community awareness and support for those navigating PCOS and related conditions like endometriosis or post-viral syndromes. Overall, the intersection of gut health, hormonal balance, and blood sugar control is central to managing PCOS effectively without pharmaceuticals. Embracing comprehensive functional testing alongside lifestyle modifications not only alleviates symptoms but also empowers individuals to connect deeply with their bodies and reclaim their health.

I’m on this same journey right now. I started seeing a functional doctor and took Dutch test, GI test, and blood panel and I have learned so much about my body and what it is doing. The phase I am in is balancing hormones and getting in control with inflammation with supplements, dietary changes, and exercise when I can or if anything at least stretch my body. Once we get those into shape then will be working on the gut issues. I been dealing with PCOS with insulin resistance for over 5 years and tried conventional medicine and got no where. I have hope that I’m moving in the right direction and by working with a functional doctor it will be the stepping stones to how I need to change my lifestyle. I highly would recommend anyone to try a holistic approach. You can’t treat the root cause if you don’t know what your own body is doing!
