I have failed at living.
Trapped in ideas, not reality.
How many what ifs, should haves, and tomorrows does it take before you realize you’re just procrastinating until death’s due date? How many hours will you wade through, drifting between thought and action? Skimming over dreams, hoping that maybe—just maybe—one will leap from the stream and land in your open palms, fully formed, effortlessly yours?
You’re missing the truth.
Each vision of yourself exists—but only if you choose to live. If you choose to endure temporary pain, to postpone the rise of temptation, to lock in on your own creativity instead of feeding distraction.
But you are hypnotized by comparison, drowning in consumption, gluttonous for excuses, choking on your own denial. Unwilling to sacrifice comfort for a life worth telling stories about. One filled with epic love, heartbreak, success, loss, and the unexpected.
Yet you sit here, loathing your failure.
As if this version of yourself is one you want to grow accustomed to. As if you’re willing to let the days blur into weeks, and the weeks dissolve into years while a stagnant life creeps by, unnoticed, while time moves forward without you.
So I’ll remind you again: you have failed.
Failed in choosing to live.
We only live this story once. Don’t let it be consumed by what ifs. Push yourself. Fail spectacularly. Get up again. Live.
Because momentary failures will always ebb and flow. But a life unlived is the only failure that lasts forever.
