... Read moreOkay, fellow grads! Getting your graduation photos taken at CSUF is such a milestone, and trust me, you want them to be perfect. When I was planning my own shoot, I spent so much time looking for *CSUF grad photo inspo*, and honestly, it can be a bit overwhelming. But don't worry, I've gathered some tips and ideas to help you nail your *CSUF grad pics*!
First up, let's talk about *CSUF regalia*. This is your moment to shine, so make sure your cap and gown fit well! For those getting their Bachelor's, the standard blue gown and orange stole are classic. But if you're like me or aiming for a higher degree, understanding CSUF Masters regalia is key. Master's gowns often differ slightly, and your hood color signifies your discipline – definitely something to research! Don't forget your stole. I saw some amazing personalized stoles, like the 'EDUCATED BLACK QUEEN' cap in one of my friends' photos, and others with beautiful Kente cloth, or 'BLACK GRADS MATTER' stoles. These add such a personal touch and truly tell your story. Make sure to get yours from the bookstore or a reputable vendor well in advance!
Now for the fun part: *grad poses*! You've got your regalia, now how do you make those matriculation photoshoot moments memorable? Here are some of my favorite ideas, many inspired by what I saw around campus:
The Iconic Arch Shot: You have to get a photo under the 'California State University Fullerton' arch. It's a classic for a reason! Try standing directly under it, or peeking out from the side like some of the grads I saw.
Show Off Your Cap: If you've decorated your cap, make sure to highlight it! Hold it up proudly, or have it slightly tilted. It’s a great way to personalize your achievement.
Campus Landmarks: Don't just stick to the arch! The campus seal building, the fountain (especially if you have textbooks to pose with, creating a studious yet celebratory vibe), and even the beautiful palm-lined paths make for fantastic backdrops. I even saw a cool shot from a railing balcony – get creative with your surroundings!
Action Shots: Try tossing your cap in the air (carefully!), walking away with your diploma, or sharing a laugh with friends. These candid moments often make the best memories.
The Serious & The Silly: Mix it up! Get some serious, powerful shots, and then switch to some joyful, smiling ones. You've earned both!
Highlight Your Stole: Whether it's a traditional CSUF stole, a Kente cloth, or a custom-designed one, let it drape beautifully and ensure it's visible in your photos.
Beyond poses, think about the best time for your shoot. Golden hour (just before sunset or after sunrise) provides the most beautiful light. And remember to bring props! Your diploma, a champagne bottle (check campus rules!), confetti, or even just a favorite book can add character. Most importantly, relax and have fun! This is a celebration of all your hard work, and your photos should reflect that joy.
Love this post💛 Can’t wait to see more of your daily moments🤩
